As we say goodbye to 2019, I just wanted to take the time to reflect on what a huge year it was for me as a newborn photographer in Kent and what you can expect from me in 2020.

It was a year of positive change, throwing caution to the wind and chasing my dreams. I have been working as a photographer for over 15 years and spent 10 years working along side my dad under Aspen Photographic. Up until April last year I was also the Designer for a well-established magazine, a position I held for 11 years.

My main passion has always been photography and since having my children, I have really developed a love for Newborn and Child photography. With other work commitments and raising a family I have struggled to really throw myself all in and focus on this area up until now.

The decision came at the beginning of 2019, I finally decided to take the plunge and follow my heart. My dad also has followed his interests in Landscape photography and so it seemed fit to branch out on my own, to rebrand and focus on what I love, Newborns!

The birth of Kelly Rodgers Photography

In April 2019, as scary as it was, it felt the right time to give up my comforts and security of designing the magazine and focus solely on my photography. I have rebranded as Kelly Rodgers Photography, revamped my studio, booked myself on several workshops with the best newborn photographers in the business and followed my dreams.

It has been hard work, but I am loving everyday and now both my kids are at school, I finally have the time to dedicate myself fully.

The vision behind Kelly Rodgers Photography is to capture beautiful, creative and timeless images for families to treasure. To capture the personalities of the children as they grow and produce images that simply melt your heart.

I still have so many passions to follow within photography so I am excited for the future and what 2020 will bring. I appreciate all the support I have had on Facebook, liking and commenting on my posts really help share my work and the reviews I have received have made it all worth while, so thank you.

As a small business it is becoming increasingly hard to get noticed so please keep all your post likes and comments coming, it really does make a difference to me.

What to expect in 2020

I will continue to welcome lots of squishy newborns to the studio and looking forward to seeing some of my 2019 newborns return for their sitter and birthday shoots.

There has been a growing interest in outdoor shoots, so I will be holding bluebell mini shoots as well as summer and autumn mini shoots. In addition to this, mummy and me sessions, which were very popular last year, and school mini shoots. So keep following my face book page facebook/kellyrodgersphotography for all the latest news.
